Alitalia thanks all employees with -€470 million profit sharing

Alitalia employees will be thanked in style this year, with a negative bonus.

The bonus will be distributed among the company’s 12.000 employees and will be equivalent to about a 1 or 2 year salary, Alitalia CFO Luigi Poorleone said at a fundraser event on Monday.

“Our employees are the reason behind our successes and failures and we think profit sharing is important to involve our staff more into the company.”.

The bonus reflects the current financial situation of Alitalia, the airline made another significant loss in 2019 but has no exact numbers yet. “Our only accountant is currently recovering from an eye surgery”

The negative amount will be automatically added to the next pay check, which in all cases will result in a withdrawal.
