Drone “pilots” in the US now obligated to wear uniform

New regulations in the US now obligate drone pilots to wear a uniform after lawmakers passed new laws to improve drone safety.

With drones becoming more and more popular among scientists, filmmakers, influencers and other professionals, ensuring safety is a big challenge. One of the main issues is that drone operators are not easily recognizable. A new law will now force operators to wear a uniform.

The uniform will have some distinct features: It will look like a regular pilots uniform but will be completely orange with reflective stripes.

Another important change is that drone operators are now, by law, forbidden to call themselves pilots, just “operators”.
