Children not allowed anymore at Singapore Changi Airport.

Singapore Changi Airport will ban all children under 16, effective immediately. Parents with children are requested to travel through neighboring airports like Kuala Lumpur or Jakarta

“Creating a child-friendly environment is too expensive and the children are not worth the investment” says CEO Lee Sow Young. “We have a few area’s for children but we can now finally remove them and turn them into coffee places or electronic cigarette stores which are way more profitable”

Some airports have special accommodations like a separate security lane for families in Barcelona’s El Prat. With this policy, Singapore now goes the opposite direction, just to be different than all other players in the market.

Security at the entrance will check ID’s and families with children have to turn around. Families that already booked a connection through Changi Airport will have to contact their airline or traveling agency to be rebooked. If your final destination is Singapore and you travel with children, the best way is to take a bus from Kuala Lumpur.
